Dr. Phillip Alvelda
MobiTV, founded in 2000, is the first and only worldwide television network for mobile phones. Dr. Alvelda has played an instrumental role in managing the company’s growth from the start-up to its current standing as a global leader in its domain.
Prior to MobiTV, Dr. Alvelda was the founding CEO and CTO of The MicroDisplay Corporation, a manufacturing company that makes ultra-high resolution miniature displays for portable systems and low cost HDTVs. Dr. Alvelda served as a spacecraft hardware and software systems developer, for image processing and data compression at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Dr. Alvelda has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Cornell and a Masters and PhD in CS and Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
