Room 77 Raises $30 M of Series C Funding

Mountain View, California – Room 77, the most advanced hotel shopping experience on the Web today by allowing travelers to simultaneously compare pricing across every major online travel agency has raised a series C funding amounting to $30 million. The funding was led by the giant hotel agency Expedia and backed by utter Hill Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, Concur Technologies and Felicis Ventures.
“We believe metasearch is an increasingly important model and complementary to our travel transaction businesses,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, Expedia, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer. “The level of innovation and depth of content at Room 77 excites us about its future role in this important customer acquisition channel.”
The new funding will be used to expand its market reach internationally, hire new workforce and engineers and also for product development.
