Mountain View, California – Axcient, a unified cloud platform that eliminates downtime and data loss, and replaces legacy systems for backup and disaster recovery has raised $20 million led by Scale Venture Partners and Thomvest Ventures and backed by Peninsula Venture Partners and Allegis Capital.

The new funding will be used in hiring more than 50 engineers and marketing specialist this year. The company now has a total of $53.5 million in venture funding.
