7digital Raises $8.5 for Music and Video eCommerce Site

7digital sells music and videos DRM free. 7digital sells music, video and film downloads to consumers in the UK, Ireland and Germany. The store currently has more than 3.5 million tracks and more than 1.1 million customers. Since selling DRM-free music it says it has seen a sales surge of 188%.
The money raise will assist them with expanding into the United States, and expanding and adding video and computer game downloads to its site.
They also create and operate online stores for other sites such as: Bebo, Last.fm, ITV and Pringles.
