Gumroad Raises $1.1 K of Seed Funding

San Francisco, California – Gumroad, a startup which democratize the ability to sell stuff online by converting the links posted in twitter or facebook and turning it into a payment system has raised $1.1 million of seed funding from venture capital firms Accel Partners, SV Angel, Collaborative Fund and angel investors Chris Saca, Max Levchin, Josh Kopelman, Seth Goldstein, Navil Ravikrant and Danny Rimer.

Anyone can use Gumroad, from artists like poets, IT experts like coders and designers or popstars like Lady Gaga, they only need to have a facebook account or twitter and post a link whether it is a newly released song, a poem, a code or an iphone apps. Gumroad will ask you to set a price from $1 to $1000 and Gumroad gets a 5% plus .30 cents.

Gumroad was launched by 19 year-old Sahil Lavingia, the designer of Pinterest.
