Memrise, an online learning platform that combines the best insights from the art and science of memory to provide extraordinarily effective, game-like learning experiences has raises $1.1 M of seed funding from Audrey Capital, Avalon Ventures, Balderton Capital, Lerer Ventures and angel capitalists Nabeel Hyatt, Jeff Hammerbacher, Bill Warner, Scott Heller, Walt Winshall and Ken Baumann. Audrey Capital is owned by the WordPress founder and Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg.

Founder Ed Cooke promises that 5 minutes a day of learning new language through Memrise will improve your chosen second language or third. they uses plants to represent your learning growth and garden your overall growth.
