London, United Kingdom – SongKick, a UK-based online database of concerts for music aficionados has raised $10 million of series B funding from Sequoia Capital, SoftTech VC, The Accelerator Group and Index Ventures.
The start up was founded by in an attic in 2007 by Ian Hogarth, Michelle You and Pete Smith as an early Y Combinator company.The funding is very essential to the IT and tech industry in United Kingdom for it a sign that large U.S. investors like Sequoia Capital is looking for overseas startups. It is the first UK-based startup that Sequoia Capital has funded.
