Triptrotting Raises $1 M of Series A Funding

Pasadena, California – Triptrotting, an online community that connects travelers and locals and matched them based on their interests has raised $1 million of series A funding from Google Ventures and Launchpad Venture Group LA and was also backed by angel investors like Mark Suster, Dave McClure, Bill Gross, Safa Rashtchy, and Eric Chen.
The purpose of the startup is to provide the traveler a local friend or tour guide. The host can provide services like letting the traveler stay at home or minor services such as picking up in the airport, going out for a cup of coffee or a city tour. Although the main objective is to connect locals and travelers, local guide can ask for fee for the services.
Safety can be an issue but Triptrotting says that they verify all the members and the decision always lies on the traveler and the locals.
