San Francisco, California – TaskRabbit, an online and mobile marketplace that helps people live smarter by allowing them to outsource their errands and tasks has raised $5M of Series A Funding from Shasta Ventures and backed up by First Round Capital, Baseline Ventures, FLOODGATE, Collaborative Fund, 500 Startups and The Mesh author Lisa Gansky.

The funding will be used to expand beyond the current markets of San Francisco and Boston and to double the team of 13 people, hiring specifically into engineering and sales.

As part of the funding agreement, Shasta Ventures’ Sean Flynn will be joining TaskRabbit’s Board of Directors.
