BitPay Raises $2 Million of Seed Funding

Atlanta, Georgia – BitPay, a leading payment service provider (PSP) specializing in the peer-to-peer virtual currency Bitcoin which provides for instantaneous transactions has raised $2 million of seed funding from Founders Fund with the participation of Heisenberg Capital.
“We were not looking to raise any capital until later this year, but we could not ignore the opportunity to have Founders Fund involved with BitPay,” says Tony Gallippi, co-founder and CEO of BitPay. “There’s no single investment firm we would rather have on our team right now than Founders Fund.
The new funding will be used for product development and for hiring new software engineers for it’s Atlanta office.
