San Mateo, California – PokitDok, a price transparent health marketplace where consumers shop directly from providers for high value health services has raised $4 million of series A funding from New Atlantic Ventures and Rogers Venture Partners and backed by Rogers Communications Inc. Subtraction Capital, Zac Zeitlin and FFP Holdings.
“We invested in PokitDok because it is tackling a critical need for healthcare pricing transparency and a place that connects doctors and patients, at a meaningful moment in history,” said John Backus, co-founder and managing partner, New Atlantic Ventures. “An unintended result of the Affordable Care Act is a rush by consumers and businesses to adopt high deductible health plans with low monthly premiums.”
The new capital will be used for the expansion of the company and for hiring new employees.
