Uber Raises $37 M in Series B Funding and Not $32 M

San Francisco, California – Travis Kalanick, the CEO of the upscale limo and taxi services startup has clarify to the crowd of Disrupt San Francisco that it has raised $37 million of funding instead of the previously reported $32 million.
The series B funding was conducted last December of 2011 and was participated by Menlo Ventures, Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Goldman Sachs. Kalanick also added that the company was allowed to raise up to $39 million by the investors but they opted for $37 million. He also discussed during his interview on Disrupt the struggles the company encountered venturing in new cities, the unions from taxi operators and other competitors like Lyft.
