Like.com Received $3.3 Million for a Virtual Shopping Engine

Like.com raised $3.3 Million in venture capital funding from BlueRun Ventures (Nokia Venture Partners), Bay Partners and Leapfrog Ventures. Like.com originally raised $19 million under the name Riya.

What does Like.com do?

Like.com is an image-based comparative shopping engine.

VCU says:

Like.com is a visual search engine to help you find items by shape, size and color. You can search by brand or category and once you find an item you like you can then search by likeness.

The search is amazing, you may find a Prada shoe you like, then choose “likeness search”. Other brands with similar shoes will be shown. You can then narrow the search by color, style, or by brand. A description of how it works in words does not do it justice.

This would be a great tool for eBay to provide to users.
