Flurry Receives $3.5 Million
Flurry recently raised their first round of $3.5 Million, which adds to their previous seed funding.
What does Flurry do?
They provide email and news to your phone. No need to use their email, the client for your mobile phone will log into any email client you like.
Funding was received from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Borealis Ventures, and Draper Richards.
What will they use this funding for?
They stated they will use the funding to accelerate growth and adoption of their service, also enhance the product, and expand the management team.
Flurry is an interesting service, their application allows you to read your email and RSS feeds. Their application is compatible with many different phones.
The mobile phone does not check your email directly, Flurry’s server(s) check your email then it encrypts it and your phone retreives it from a Flurry server(s) when you open the application on your mobile phone.
They have a simple installation process, sign up and they send you a text message with instructions. Load the site on your phone, install, and you are done. You can manage your preferences, RSS subscriptions, and email accounts from your mobile phone or your PC.
Incredible offering, just the tip of the iceberg, expect to see many others and more offerings. The user interface is nice and will only get better.
