CafeMom Receives $12 Million, Social Networking for Moms

CafeMom received $12 Million from Highland Capital Partners and Draper Fisher Jurveston. They previously raised $5 Million in August 2007.

What does CafeMom do?

CafeMom is a social networking site for mothers.

VCU says:

As we have expressed before niche social networking sites are the next social networking wave. CafeMom is a social networking site focused on moms, and in July 2007 they had more than 65 million pageviews and 1.7 million unique visits. Now in March 2008 they receive 6 million unique visits and over 120 million page views.

Moms have created more than 15,000 groups. Popular groups include pregnancy, raising boys, recipe swap, photo moms, and marriage and relationships. CafeMom features include fully customizable profile pages, friends’ networks, journaling, and strong privacy / anonymity controls.
