TeachStreet Received $2.25 Million for a Tutor Search

TeachStreet received $2.25 Million in Series A funding from Madrona Venture Group and Bezos Expeditions along with individual investors (see below).

What does TeachStreet do?

TeachStreet allows teachers to find students and students to find teachers in a tutor search.

VCU says:

TeachStreet assists those needing to find a teacher and allows them to search those that are local. Teachers can of course locate more students and therefore business from the service.

TeachStreet has launched first in the Seattle market with a guide to more than 25,000 Seattle based teachers, classes, instructors, and schools.

An interesting business, much like a craigs list for buying and selling when using it for localized search.
