Jott Raised $5.4 Million for Converting Voice to Text on Mobile Phones
May 16, 2007

Jott raised $5.4 Million in their series A funding from Bain Capital Ventures, along with Draper Richards, Ackerley Partners and Atomico Investments.

What does Jott do?

Jott converts voice to text with the assistance of human transcribers.

VCU says:

Jott allows you to call in on your mobile phone, or any phone, and speak your message. The message is converted to text and you may keep it for yourself or email it to others.

Currently there is human interaction as Jott uses transcribers to accurately transcribe your message. As to the scalability of this we have no idea, but obviously it could be significant expense as they scale.

Take a look at their site below, they are in beta and currently only available to U.S. and Canadian subscribers.
