ChipIn Received $5.1 Million for their Money Raising Application

ChipIn received $5.1 million in Series B funding from Polaris Venture Capital and Japan`s GVC.

What does ChipIn do?

ChipIn has a social network application allowing others to send you money via paypal.

VCU says:

Essentially ChipIn is a way for individuals to send you money via PayPal. Technically that is correct, however the way they market it and allow individuals to use it is well thought out.

You create a ChipIn widget and state what you are collecting money for, how much you want to raise, and when you need it by. The widget can then be placed on any blog or site and when those see it and want to assist you then can easily contribute.

Take a look at ChipIn.
