Decarta received $6 million from Deutsche Telekom`s T-Venture.

What does deCarta do?

deCarta provides geospatial software platforms for Internet, mobile, personal navigation and enterprise location-based service (LBS) applications.

VCU says:

At deCarta`s core is their geospatial software platform. They make available a Software Development Kit (SDK) and an Application Programming Interface (API) for GPS navigation, a mapping engine and web-hosted services. These provide access to any application developers and mobile operators to create out location-aware offerings.

deCarta also offers a Hosted Web Service for customers that would like to use a Software as a Service (SaaS) model to gain access to high-performance maps, routes and other necessary geospatial functionality used in Internet, mobile and enterprise applications.
