PlayPhone received $18.75 Million, the lead investor was Scale Venture Partners, and Cardinal Venture Partners as well as Menlo Ventures participated.

What does PlayPhone do?

PlayPhone is a mobile media and entertainment company focused on the global distribution of wireless games, ringtones, electronic wallpaper, videos and other premium content featuring top-tier brands.

PlayPhone is a consumer focused mobile conent and aggregation company. They are one of the largest distributors of mobile games, ringtones, wallpapers, videos and other personalized content. Their site offers a full portfolio of mobile branded games to users.

They also have prepaid gift cards, not only can a consumer purchase for themselves but they can gift to friends and family. You have to visit their site to get an idea of the mobile entertainment they provide.
