MyStrands Raises $25 Million for Song Analysis and Recommendation

MyStrands receives $25 Million in a second round of funding lead by Antonio Asensio, CEO of Grupo Zeta, and Debaeque and Sequel. Total investment from the first and second rounds is $31 Million.

What does MyStrands do?

MyStrand’s recommends songs to you based on analyzing songs you like.

VCU says:

MyStrands was started in 2003. Their recommendation technology analyzes the songs a person listens to and then makes recommendations based on patterns. The sounds may also be input into their recommendation system by mobile phones and other Internet-connected devices, not only computers.

They have noted that they may use the technology to recommend movies or any other type of digital content. Through this technology they hope to better personalize your experience on the Internet.
