Jitterbug Received $38 Million for Cell Phones & Service

Jiggerbug (GreatCall, Inc.) raised $38 Million in Series C funding from Court Square Ventures, Steelpoint Capital, Charles River Ventures, Nauta Capital, and company founders Marty Cooper and Arlene Harris.

What does Jitterbug do?

Jitterbug provides an easy to use cell phone for younger children and older adults, along with a helpful 24 hour operator.

VCU says:

Jitterbug`s vision is to deliver easy to use, helpful and affordable cellular phones and service. You can see that the offer phones with less features but those more easy to use. The idea is to keep the phone simple and provide great service, operated assisted calling for example. The target market seems to be an older demographic, or could be younger, as the buttons are larger and easier to understand.

The picture below shows one of their phone options, another on their site shows only 3 buttons, an emergency button, an operator button and a customized button programmable for whatever you may want.

They are sold through stores such as Best Buy, Sears, CVS and others.
