TheFind Receives $15 Million for Shopping Search Engine without Paid Search
July 11, 2007

TheFind raised $15 Million from Bain Capital, Redpoint Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

What does TheFind do?

TheFind allows you to search every store online and quickly find the top products, brands, stores and styles for your search.

VCU says:

Try the search engine, it has an excellent interface. You get the feeling that you are browsing one huge store as opposed to search results.

TheFind is a discovery shopping search engine that focuses on the most relevant possible results without paid search advertising.

The results are clean and unbiased due to the fact that they do not offer paid search advertising. They have banner advertising but not the typical CPC advertising of Google and others that may clutter the results.

TheFind states that they .. crawl the entire Web, using its “Product Ranking Engine” technology to rank more than 170 million products from more than 500,000 stores.

They recently branded their search for PayPal, see it here, a shopping search engine built specifically to enable consumers to browse products exclusively from merchants who accept PayPal payments.
