Doppelganger (vSide) Receives $11 Million for Teen Virtual Worlds

Doppelganger raised $11 Million from ComVentures, Draper Fisher Jurveston, Trident Capital, KPG Ventures, Draper Richards, and Greycroft Partners.

What does Doppelganger do?

Doppelganger provides virtual worlds for teens.

VCU says:

Doppelganger considers itself a social entertainment company. Their latest product is named vSide, which is a social experience focused on music, entertainment, and fashion. You can make an avatar and enter the vSide neighborhoods, stores, clubs, apartments, and studios for user interaction.

Some interesting statistics, the average in-world (individuals in the Doppelganger virtual world) session for vSide is 77 minutes and Doppelganger members spend an average of 11 hours in-world per month.
