BuzzLogic Received $2.5 Million for a Social Media Ad Network

BuzzLogic attempts to determine and metric the success of social marketing campaigns.

VCU says:

BuzzLogic launched their application in 2007 to allow advertisers, marketers and communications professionals maximize online advertising performance, blogger relations and product promotion campaigns.

BuzzLogic creates an index to assist in determining the success of a campaign. BuzzLogic is looking for what people who are knowledgeable and influential on a particular subject are actually saying. To successfully do this, BuzzLogic’s Conversation Index crawls content that others have deliberately linked to, no link farms etc. Secondly, BuzzLogic’s index counts blogs, social networks and other social media (YouTube, MySpace), corporate sites and approximately 8,000 mainstream media outlets.

BuzzLogic’s algorithms take more than a dozen factors into consideration when determining influence.
